Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance can I book a room?
Reservations are accepted up to 12 months in advance for most rooms. The DeSitter Room may be reserved up to 18 months in advance. Contact the Park District office for availability.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A deposit is required at the time of booking to hold your date. The deposit amount varies by room and event type. Your booking coordinator will provide details.
Can I bring my own catering?
Yes. Outside caterers are welcome. The DeSitter Room has an adjacent catering kitchen available for an additional fee. All caterers must carry proof of liability insurance. The Park District of La Grange does not provide catering services.
Is alcohol allowed?
Alcohol is permitted in the DeSitter Room with a valid Alcohol Permit add-on ($250 for under 100 guests, $300 for 100+ guests). Alcohol is not permitted in classrooms or the Lacey rooms without prior written approval. All alcohol service must comply with Illinois liquor laws.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 30+ days before the event receive a full deposit refund. Cancellations within 30 days forfeit the deposit. The Park District reserves the right to cancel bookings due to facility emergencies with full refund issued.
Can I decorate the rooms?
Decorations are welcome. No nails, staples, or tape on painted surfaces. Helium balloons are permitted in event rooms but not in the Rec Center lobby. Open flames (candles) require written approval.
