Governance & Transparency
How the Park District of La Grange holds its Board and staff accountable, from conflict-of-interest disclosures to Open Meetings Act compliance.
All Board members and district employees are subject to the Park District of La Grange Code of Ethics, which governs conflicts of interest, gifts, and conduct in their official capacity. A copy is available at the Park District office upon request.
Board members and designated employees are required to file an annual Statement of Economic Interest with the Cook County Clerk, as required by the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420).
All Park District of La Grange Board meetings are conducted in compliance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120). Meeting agendas are posted at least 48 hours in advance. The public is welcome to attend all open sessions. Executive sessions, when held, are limited to matters authorized by law.
Board members with a conflict of interest in any matter before the Board are required to disclose that conflict and recuse themselves from the relevant vote. Disclosures are recorded in the meeting minutes.
