Caring for our parks
Beautiful parks, responsible practices
The Park District of La Grange is committed to providing well maintained, beautiful, safe, and clean parks for the enjoyment, recreation, and relaxation of our community while giving careful consideration to the environment. Our goal is to maintain park grounds with minimal reliance on pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, using them when necessary to protect the health and quality of our parks.
Keeping our parks healthy sometimes requires managing unwanted vegetation, insects, or plant diseases. Before selecting a treatment, Park District staff carefully evaluate available options, including both mechanical and chemical methods, and consider the advantages and disadvantages of each.
When pesticide applications are necessary, the Park District may use products to control unwanted vegetation, insects, or fungi on parks, athletic fields, and other Park District property.
All pesticides are selected and applied in accordance with the Illinois Lawn Care Products Application and Notice Act and all other applicable laws and regulations.
Your safety is important to us. Whenever lawn care products are applied:
The Park District of La Grange is committed to balancing beautiful, well maintained parks with responsible environmental stewardship. We continually evaluate the most appropriate treatment methods and strive to use the least intrusive approach while providing safe, enjoyable parks and athletic fields for our community.
